Remarks
Mapping of (TTAGGG)n revealed conspicuous signals on telomeres of all chromosomes and no internal telomere sequences.
Karyological information

Source of chromosomes
Anterior kidney.

Diploid chromosome number
52
Karyotype formula

Sex chromosome
No heteromorphic sex chromosomes detected.
Chromosome staining/banding/FISH
Ag-NOR detected on chromosome pair 8 with heteromorphic ribosomal cistrons at interstitial regions on short arms. C-banding revealed few heterochromatin blocks restricted to centromeres. CMA3 stained GC-rich sites were coincident with Ag-NORs. Additional CMA3 signals observed in, at least, three other chromosomal pairs.
